Chatt Hills Summer Series II

Mostly eventing in the south in the middle of the summer is usually a bad call. It's hot, sticky, and the ground is hard like concrete. We really lucked out this time. The weather was lovely and the ground was perfect!

Redbud took 7 horses to Chatt Hills last weekend. We were running in everything from beginner novice through preliminary. It was a busy weekend.

To try to keep the horses out of the heat as much as possible we left the farm at 5:00 AM. We were lucky here as well that it was a bit overcast and so the horses were a bit more comfortable for the long ride.

And the horses were wonderful! Everyone had a good outing, but the star of the weekend was Ray. He completed his first recognized event finishing on his dressage score of 29.5. This little horse had grown up so much since he came to Redbud a year ago. When he first arrived he was sure there were little trolls living in and around all the fences. Now he suspects they may still be there, but it doesn't stop him from doing his job. We're very proud of him. We are hoping for big things from this exciting young horse. We just need to take the time to get his confidence up.
